CAPDEPERA CASTLE
Castle with a fairly well preserved chapel, a watchtower and a governor's house
It is a fortified enclosure of the XIV century (built under Jaume II, son of the conqueror of Majorca Jaume II) dominating the village of Capdepera. Located 159 metres above sea level, the castle was a prime lookout point. It is fairly well preserved and contains the Chapel of Our Lady of Hope, the watchtower and the governor's house. Every year, during the third weekend of May, the Castell de Capdepera hosts a huge medieval market, which is accompanied by theatrical performances, concerts and entertainment.
