TOUR D'EN PENJAT
The Tower of En Penjat is one of the defensive buildings that the British built during their presence in Menorca
The Tour d'En Penjat (Catalan for "Tower of the Hanged Man") is one of the defensive buildings constructed by the British during their presence on Menorca in the 18th century. It was erected in 1798 at the request of General Stuart, then Governor of Menorca, to protect the entrance to the port of Es Castell while Sant Felip Castle was being rebuilt. It later served as a defensive support for the Marlborough fort. The tower cannot be visited, but it is possible to get close to it. A great opportunity to visit the Menorcan countryside!
