BOCA DO INFERNO
The Boca do Inferno, whose name means Hell's Mouth, is a natural geological formation made up of volcanic lava that forms a smiling mouth. Mainly at high tide, the force of the waves entering its indentation is such that the water shoots out like a geyser. It's a fascinating sight. Legend has it that when the Baron of Agua Izé wished to travel to Portugal, he threw himself into the water with his white horse and emerged at the Boca do Inferno, near the Portuguese city of Cascais.
