HAI VÂN TUNNEL
A large tunnel, 6,280 meters long, 11.90 meters wide and 7.50 meters high, used by some 15,000 vehicles every day.
Southeast Asia's largest tunnel required no less than 1,095 days of work by a thousand Vietnamese and Japanese engineers and workers. The structure, 6,280 m long, 11.90 m wide and 7.50 m high, is used every day by 15,000 vehicles, which pass through the Cloud Pass in 11 minutes (compared with almost an hour by road). Cyclists and motorcyclists can also use the tunnel, transported by a shuttle bus. The tunnel can be visited, with explanations of its hidden life: construction, safety management and a whole host of other unusual anecdotes.
