CLOUD NECK (HAI VÂN NECK)

This avenue aspires to be nothing less than an Asian version of the Côte d'Azur's famous Promenade des Anglais.
When the pass is clear, the road offers a magnificent panorama on both sides of the mountain. Springs gush out of the rocky slopes, while vast rice paddies die on the sand, the only boundary between land and sea. On the way down to the sea (on the north side), you can make out the fishing village of Lang Cô. Lang Cô has long been known for its beautiful beach of fine white sand. But if this splendid panorama has made the reputation of the Col des Nuages, celebrated by poets from time immemorial, it does not obscure a much sadder contemporary reality. Anyone who has crossed the pass by bus remembers how a young boy used to stand at the door, equipped with a wooden wedge, ready to pounce in the not unlikely event of the brakes showing any weakness.
But since 2005, the situation has changed dramatically. June 5, 2005 saw the opening of the Hai Vân tunnel, the largest in Southeast Asia. The tunnel has changed the face of tourism in the surrounding area. The superb Lang Cô beach, long a rare and solitary pearl, is now undergoing accelerated development. The municipality of Dà Nang has also taken advantage of the opportunities offered by the tunnel to build a new road linking all the tourist sites. This road, lined with hotels and restaurants, aims to be nothing less than an Asian version of the Côte d'Azur's famous Promenade des Anglais.

The only disadvantage, C is at the top of pass or they were cloudy but was without much interest if the ruins are not appreciated!
