Remains of the former Tinchebray chocolate factory, Sainte-Marie chapel and Cémoi factory

From the Vire-Tinchebray road, you can see in the distance part of the former abbey founded by the Pères de Sainte-Marie, but burnt down in 1919 when Pierre Fortin, a butter manufacturer in Vire, set up the "Chocolaterie de l'Abbaye". What remains are the east wing and the Sainte-Marie chapel, which have been taken over by the Cémoi factory and are not open to the public. Tip: after the chapel forecourt, discover the rear building by descending the surprising Chemin des Châtaigniers.
