ST BRIGID'S CATHEDRAL & ROUND TOWER
A beautiful cathedral built in the century, with a fine carinated roof structure, interesting Renaissance tombs, etc.
Beautiful grey stone cathedral built in the 13th century in honour of St. Brigid, patron saint of the country. You will discover a beautiful hull structure, a scale model of the monastery founded by Saint Brigid in 490, interesting Renaissance tombs and a magnificent baptismal font. Next to the cathedral stands an impressive 12th century round tower, 33 metres high, where stairs lead the adventurous to a beautiful view of the whole of County Kildare.
