Kanjon Rakitnice
Magnificent canyon with dangerous access and views from the heights, one of the deepest and wildest in Europe.
Explored for the first time in 1956, this canyon (Kanjon Rakitnice) is beautiful but dangerous to access. It is one of the deepest and wildest in Europe. The Rakitnica River rises near the village of Rakitnica and connects the Neretva with Konjic for 26 km through gorges up to 800 m high in some places. The northern part can be explored on foot from the village of Rakitnica, the southern part can be descended by canyoning with the agency Visit Konjic (in Konjic, Herzegovina) and the views from the heights at the hamlet of Lukomir.
