FRANCISCAN MONASTERY OF KRALJEVA SUTJESKA
This monumental Franciscan monastery lies between Visoko and Kakanj on the M 5 Sarajevo-Zenica. To find it, take the exit Kakanj on the motorway direction downtown. On the right, follow Kraljeva Sutjeska at 12 km. It is located in the «canyon des rois», where the citadel of Bobovac stands at the end. His story is atypical. It was built in the th century by King Tvrtko I to serve as a royal court. Destroyed several times, it takes its current appearance in 1890 in a Austro-Hungarian style, faithful to the time. Really imposing, it is dominated by two towers. The crypt contains the remains of King Stjepan Tomaš. To visit it, first address the information centre in the main street of the village. There are only six monks living there who also manage a small museum. They speak English.
