Set on a hill 177 m above sea level, this beautiful medieval fortress (Dobojska Tvrđava/Добојска Тврђава) overlooks the town and the Bosna River 40 m below. Erected from the 13th century, it was besieged eighteen times in its history, most notably in 1415 (the date is above the entrance gate), when the Grand Duke of Bosnia Hrvoje Vukčić Hrvatinić managed to repel the Hungarians here with the help of the Ottomans. One can walk through the courtyard, the mighty ramparts and the Captain's Tower arranged with explanatory panels.
