Tourist information office and museum with an impressive collection in a historic setting in Roscommon
A former Presbyterian church (1863) houses both the tourist office and the county museum. The collection on display is interesting and out of the ordinary, such as the intriguing Sheela Na Gig (a medieval sculpture of women with large genitals found on churches and abbeys in Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales), or a ninth-century carved slab from the monastery of Saint Coman.
