Rathcroghan is a major archaeological complex, among the most important in Europe and a reference point in Irish mythology. It would have been the prehistoric capital of Ireland and the place of coronation of the kings of Connacht. Over 240 archaeological sites (60 of which are listed as protected national monuments), covering approximately 6 km2, promise a captivating visit. These monuments were built over a period ranging from the Neolithic to the Iron Age.
