Historic residence housing the Mahon family heritage and a museum retracing the history of the Great Famine.
Historic 18th century residence that houses the Mahon family heritage. The magnificent 2 hectare gardens are also on the program. In the old stables, don't miss the museum's poignant exhibits tracing the disaster of the Great Famine (1845-1850), one of the most tragic events in Irish history. Ironically, tourism is sometimes awkward, as when you leave the museum and come across a tourist restaurant.
