O'BRIEN'S TOWER
Tower situated on Moher's highest cliff, offering an exceptional panoramic view, powerful and vertiginous.
The O'Brien Tower was built in 1835 by Cornelius O'Brien, a descendant of Brian Boru, the great king of Ireland, and the O'Briens of Bunratty Castle, kings of Thormond, as an observatory for the hundreds of travellers who came to view the cliffs even then. A circular staircase leads up to it. Situated on the highest cliff in Moher, this tower offers an exceptional panoramic view, powerful and dizzying. On a clear day, you can even see the Aran Islands to the north.
