In Cyrillic: Ивановските скални църкви. In this monastery carved out of limestone rock, the 14th century frescoes, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO, are truly breathtaking. The monastery is a good pretext for a hike: a path that starts from the car park below goes up to the monastery, continues further into the Roussenski Lom, and is perhaps the best way to appreciate the valley. You can walk this way to the Tcherven fortress.

Bisericile sapate in stanca de la Ivanovo sunt incluse in patrimoniul mondial UNESCO incepand cu anul 1979, iar pesterile din aceasta zona au fost locuite inca din anii 1200, prin urmare vorbim despre o istorie a locului veche de secole. Accesul se face fie pe treptele care pornesc de la parcare fie se merge pe alee aproximativ 200m și după aceea incepe p cărare prin pădurice care de duce la câteva puncte de belvedere foarte spectaculoase. În 10 min ajungi la Biserica unde poti vede picturile foarte frumoase datând din secolul 14. Intrarea este 10levea.

Плаща се на входа на църквата.Възрастен- 10.00лв., ученик- 5.00лв. Пътят от с.Иваново до скалната църква е в ремонт, но проходим.

Leider war geschlossen, obwohl auf Maps geöffnet stand. Ich bin extra mit Fuß und Zug gekommen und bin sehr enttäuscht.

Update: Also anscheinend muss man im Winter anrufen, das steht wohl auf der nur auf bulgarisch geschriebenen Webseite. Ich habe jetzt mal angerufen. Mir wurde in gebrochenem Englisch gesagt, sie öffnen im April wieder. Da es aber noch recht aktuelle Rezensionen gibt, hatte ich wahrscheinlich einfach Pech.

P.S.: Die Natur ist recht schön hier, obwohl es regnet.
