A monastery with a magnificent and unique view of the surrounding sand pyramids.
Built in the 13th century, Rojen Monastery, also known as the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, was demolished and rebuilt several times, especially after the passage of the Turks. Today's monastery, still in operation, dates mainly from the 18th century. The murals in the church and refectory (on the first floor on the left as you enter) as well as the remarkable iconostases and stained glass windows are all 200 years old.
