PUNTA LINGUA
Small lake with remains of walls from the Roman imperial period
At the southern end of the island, at Punta Lingua, the former saltworks, now a small brackish lake, is a staging point for migrating marine life. There are remains of walls from the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, dating back to the Roman imperial period. Next to it, the village of Lingua is lost in the middle of vineyards and olive groves. There are a few hotels and restaurants. The lighthouse is a little piece of the world lost in front of the ocean. Don't forget to visit Punta Grottazza, not far from there, with its beautiful basalt cave.
