Cable car, the easiest way to visit the volcano Etna.
This is the easiest way to visit the volcano. The cable car goes up to the Montagnola, where there are some craters. For the summit, you will have to go up with a guide in a 4x4 to the crater. When the cable car is not working (wind or fog), only the guides go up. In winter, no 4x4, but you can ski back down. Tickets can be bought at the Sapienza refuge, at the foot of the cable car or online. Inside, a new 7D cinema simulates an eruption. At its foot are restaurants and souvenir shops.

the ascent by the south is most practical and offers many opportunities. given the slope, it is difficult to walk up. the cable car allows you to take height and finish walk if the dust 4x4 on the ashes does not scare you. once in summit: 300m under the main crater, you need a guide to the central craters
