The Society of High Mountain Guides of the High Tatras (spolok horských vodcova) was founded in 1874 and employs about fifteen professional guides. The company only has a permanent presence in the city during the summer season. It is better to contact them directly by phone or via their website. It is with them that you will be able to climb the two highest peaks of the Tatras, the impressive Gerlachovský štít and Lomnický štít, both of which are only accessible in a group and roped up with its mountain pros.
