In the small village of Svätý Kríž, there is a unique cultural monument, an articulated wooden evangelical church. It is one of the largest and most valuable wooden buildings in Slovakia. This superb church, built in 1774 in the parish of Paludza, is one of 35 temples that Protestants were able to build in the 18th century, only 5 of which remain today. Moved in 1974 to save it from the waters, it can accommodate several hundred people.
