Since 1965, water sports enthusiasts and especially adventurous paddlers from all over the world gather in Rio Negro to celebrate the longest regatta in the world: it starts in Neuquén and ends in Viedma, 500 km away. The descent of the Rio Negro is a course in 6 stages based on the experience lived by Oscar La Palma and Enrique Rietchart who in 1933 left from San Carlos de Bariloche and during one hundred and eleven interminable hours of navigation connected Bariloche to Viedma, with a canvas canoe!
