SAINT LAURENT CHURCH
This church, located in the center of Arnay-le-Duc, is a major tourist attraction following major restoration work.
Listed as a historic monument, Saint-Laurent church was built in 1092, then renovated and rebuilt over the centuries. The castral chapel dates back to the Romanesque period, while the pillars, nave and choir date from the 15th century, and the chapels from the 16th and 18th centuries. The façade, in the Jesuit tradition with its characteristic curves, is a fine example of the Grand-Siècle style. Inside, there are numerous works of art, some of which are also listed: statues, murals, oil on wood. A magnificent ceiling completes the ensemble.
