The wooden Greek-Catholic church of St. Paraskeva was built in 1705. Paraskeva in the 3rd century was the daughter of rich Christian landowners from Iconium (Konya Turkey). After their death, she shared her rich inheritance with the poor and took a vow of chastity. Accused of being a Christian, she was imprisoned and tortured to death during the period of persecution under the Emperor Diocletian. Parasceva thus became a martyr and was venerated in Russia.
