FORT AWHALA
Fortress measuring almost 50 m by 100 m, with walls 2.4 m thick and a watchtower over 11 m high.
The Awhala fortress was built almost 250 years ago on the remains of a fortress dating back to the first millennium BC. The fort that stands before visitors' eyes is very beautiful, and the road that takes you there passes through a superb mountain landscape. It measures approximately 50 m by 100 m and the walls are 2.4 m thick. You enter through a huge gate, then climb to the second floor to admire the 11 m-high watchtower and the surrounding landscape. The fort was restored between 2003 and 2005.
