BAL DES VENDANGES DE SONTA – GROŽĐEBAL

In this village of Vojvodina north of Apatin, it was customary in early October to honor the arrival of good grapes. Yet there is an ancient tradition of the Šokaci, a small minority folded over a few villages. After a pagan parade, with masked musicians and characters, the crowd moves toward the village square to elect the knose, or lord, and his wife. Then, all this little world - beautiful white costumes embroidered, hats of felt and high leather boots - festoy at night, with its barrels and around peasant dishes. The folklore and traditions of this minority are really worth moving.
