In the surroundings of Las Palmas, the main point of interest is the Caldera de Bandama. Not far from Santa Brígida, a small road leads to the main volcanic site of Gran Canaria. This circular crater, 1 km in diameter and more than 200 m deep, is due to a violent explosion during a "hydro magmatic" eruption, bringing lava and water from a lake, river or groundwater into contact. The Bandama caldera is a typical example. We will have the best views from the peak of Bandama, at 575 m high, and the small road that leads to it. A path descends to the bottom of the crater, where one is surprised to see the isolated buildings of a still active farm. On the southern edge of the caldera, the green lawns of a renowned golf course contrast with the dryness of the crater. A superb panorama.

Impressionnant
Vues magnifiques d’une dépression impressionnante de 1000 m de diamètre et de 200 m de profondeur. On peut marcher sur les bords escarpés pour admirer le paysage volcanique, les falaises majestueuses et la verdure opiniâtre poussant malgré l’aridité. Les randonneurs peuvent emprunter des sentiers qui les conduisent au fond de la caldeira. N’hésitez pas à vous rendre pour simplement admirer les paysages à partir des belvédères aménagés sur la route : ça vaut le détour.

belle promenade autour et à l'intérieur
nous sommes allés avec un voyage organisé pour le festival de marche de grancanaria. Nous avons commencé par le tour qui n'est pas épuisant, puis nous sommes redescendus. Dans la chaleur, l'ascension a été difficile. En général une belle vue d'en haut et d'en bas une vue lointaine de quelques grottes habitées dans l'Antiquité par l'homme.
