The flagship of the small town of Torre del Lago, the famous Puccini Festival attracts 40,000 lovers of lyrical music every year.
In the province of Lucca, the city of Torre del Lago, where the composer Giacomo Puccini lived, hosts an important opera festival every summer in July and August. It features the masterpieces of the master, born in Lucca in 1858 and who died in Brussels in 1924. The festival welcomes no less than 40,000 people a year to listen to Madame Butterfly, La Bohème, Turandot or Toscain a large open-air theatre near Lake Massaciuccoli, where Puccini loved to fish and take a boat trip.
