PAYS RHIN VIGNOBLE GRAND BALLON
Pays Rhin-Vignoble-Grand Ballon occupies a central position in Haut-Rhin. It stretches from west to east, the ridge of the Vosges to the Rhine, and the south to the north. This territory draws its name from the variety of landscapes that constitutes it, namely the Vosges mountains, the vineyard, the Alsatian plain and the banks of the Rhine. By wandering through it, visitors will discover a rich and varied heritage which present many assets. Landscapes of the Vosges peaks with their highest points, Grand Ballon –1,424 m–, and Petit Ballon –1,272 m–, and the Lauch and Ballon lakes are highly-prized by hikers and cycling enthusiasts. Wine lovers can come to meet many independent winemakers on the famous Route des Vins, from Wuenheim to Soultzmatt, via Guebwiller.
