Established in 1969, the Conseil départemental pour la musique et la culture de Haute-Alsace, or CDMC de Guebwiller, is a centre for cultural training and information that encourages the practices of dance, music and theatre, an indispensable pedagogical tool with departmental teaching arrangements for teachers of the Upper Rhine music schools, dance or theatre training courses with the Des specialists in selected themes. The Centre for Training, Library, Information and resource centre is the daily activity of the permanent members of this association, which has since 1998 had a Centre for Music Information (CIM) considered today the largest music library in Europe with more than 100 000 references.
