Among the many trails in the park, Heritage Trail is among the closest to Visitor center. It is wheelchair accessible, offers rest areas with benches and lighting for evening use. Here you will find the historic Old Guide's Cemetery, which houses about twenty-one tombs from 1842 to 1857, including the famous African-American cave explorer, Stephen Bishop (1820-1857). The trail begins at the end of the footbridge near Mammoth Cave Hotel.
