PALAZZO PRETORIO
Palace that houses the old prisons, the courtroom, a chapel and private apartments in Certaldo
Dominating the medieval fortified town of Certaldo Alto, the Pretorio Palace, which dates back to the 12th century, an ancient centre of power, reveals a facade decorated with coats of arms, in terra cotta or marble, of the various vicars who lived and ruled here. Decorated with frescoes, attributed to Pier Francesco Fiorentino, this palace also houses the former prisons, the courtroom, a chapel and private apartments. From the top of the tower, the brave will enjoy a beautiful view of Certaldo and the entire Elsa valley.
