This ethnographic ecomuseum, beautifully located south of Novgorod in the St. George's Monastery, consists of a group of wooden buildings (isbas and barns) and churches from the 16th-18th centuries.
The museum organizes well-known folk festivals: from 1 to 20 January, Sviatky (Christmas); on 7 January, Orthodox Christmas; from 22 February to 1 March, Candlemas and Shrove Tuesday; from 2 March to 18 April, Great Lent; in April, Orthodox Easter.
