SVIATOHIRSK MONASTERY (СВЯТОГОРСКИЙ СВЯТО-МОНАСТЫРЬ МОНАСТЫРЬ)
The first monks settled on the flanks of these hills in the th century. At that time they dug down cellars and an underground church, which today forms the upper part of the monastery. When in 1624, under the order of the tsar, these lands pass to the church, began the construction of the monastery. The most picturesque church of the whole is the church of Saint-Nicolas built on a rock. The monastery can be visited independently, except for the cellars in the upper part for which you have to join a group (contact the office of the monastery, open from 9 am to 16 pm, closed from 12 am to 13 pm). In 2004, the monastery received the prestigious lavradors status.
