CATETINHO
Modest wooden building on stilts, with rooms and chambers still intact, now a historical museum
The Catete was the residence of the Brazilian presidents in Rio. The Catetinho, a modest wooden building on stilts, was the first palace in Brasília. Its name is a diminutive of Catete, the name of the former presidential palace. It was here that the president stayed with his team when he came to inspect the construction of the new capital... Today the building is a historical museum. The rooms and chambers have remained intact and we can see several personal objects of Juscelino and his wife Sarah
