Glyfada has four public beaches, the closest to Athens. They have free umbrellas and showers, but the sand is often covered with cigarette butts. Glyfada Beach 1 is the most crowded, as it is the first to be served by the streetcar ("Kentro Istioploias" stop). At the next two stops ("Paralia Glyfadas" and "Platia Vergoti"), Glyfada 2, Asteria (or Glyfada 3) and Touristico Beach are a little less crowded. You'll find more exclusive, paying beaches a little further south, at Voula (Asklipiio Voulas stop).
