Church with an organ built by Joseph Stiehr in 1833 and which has undergone several episodes of restoration
The 18th century St. Maurice Church in Guewenheim was rebuilt in 1828-1829 and then completely restored from 1958 to 1965, following the damage caused by the two World Wars. You will notice two altars, that of the Virgin with the Rosary and that of Saint Anthony of Padua, made of wood painted by Anthony Feuerstein in 1833. They are framed by two columns surmounted by Corinthian capitals. The baptismal fonts come from the old church. The organ was built by Joseph Stiehr in 1833 and underwent several episodes of restoration.
