MUSEO DEL MARE
Museum hosting an amazing exhibition about the history of the Polluce, its shipwreck and its treasure, in Capoliveri.
This museum houses an astonishing permanent exhibition that examines the history of the Polluce, its shipwreck and its treasure! Indeed, on June 17, 1841, this ship sank after being rammed off the coast of Capo Calvo. On board, precious goods, jewellery and gold and silver coins... A loot now kept in the Capoliveri Museum! The owner of the Polluce was Raffaele Rubattino (1810-1881), a famous entrepreneur and protagonist of navigation with the first steamboats of Italy's Risorgimento.
