ÉGLISE SAINT-GERMAIN-D'AUXERRE
The church that dominates Bligny-sur-Ouche is both sumptuous and special! Indeed, built at the beginning of the thirteenth century it was first attached to the strong castle, which had no less than 6 towers and was destroyed on order of Louis XI in 1478. Today, two towers are still visible: the Tour d 'Avagne and the Tour du Chapelier. Then the church known various realterations as in 1865 when it was transformed to accommodate 800 people! Moreover, what surprises is his tuf stone bell. The tuf is a typical material of the wetlands of the Gold Coast resulting from the consolidation of deposits brought by a very limestone source. A particular bell tower, which houses three bells, is included in the additional list of historic monuments in 1925. Finally, a chapel is dedicated to Saint Sebastian and houses the banners of the Brotherhood of San Sebastian, which for over 800 years has shown charity and solidarity towards the weakest. San Sebastian is celebrated on January 20.
