Route de Crêtes with a picnic area nearby offering beautiful panoramas with sometimes the sea on each side
Starting from La Laguna, the Route des Crêtes offers beautiful and often breathtaking panoramas, sometimes with the sea on either side. It is not uncommon for the peaks of the Anaga to be in the clouds, especially in summer. Shortly after La Laguna, you will see the first area of forest above the village of Las Mercedes. In a twist, you then reach the viewpoint of Valle de Aguerre, which offers a beautiful view of La Laguna and the ridge. Before reaching the ridges, there is a second viewpoint, the Cruz del Carmen, at 920 metres above sea level. The road then passes very close to the highest point of Anaga before reaching Pico del Inglés at 960 metres. Above the treetops, the panorama is impressive: the sea on either side, Santa Cruz at the bottom, the Teide at the bottom and to the east the massive silhouette of Gran Canaria. Arriving to the north, the Taborno Rock (707 metres), on the seafront, stands out. It is a neck, an old volcanic chimney, eroded. And 8 kilometres from Pico del Inglés, we arrive at the El Bailadero pass, where the view extends on both sides of the ridge. Numerous dykes (a vein of magnetic rock cleared by erosion) line the slopes. On the southern side of these ridges, a road runs along the Las Hueras barranco to San Andrés. Leaving this road over the pass, one can go down to the north side through a tunnel. Beforehand, there is a picnic area and one kilometre further on, a beautiful view of the Fuera and Dentro rocks.

Les crêtes, la descente vers l'océan, et retour, à La laguna, la même route sous deux visions. Un must.
