ANGOLA MUSEUM AT LOUISIANA STATE PENITENTIARY
Museum for a special time where prisoners sell their art and participate in rodeo events
The high security state prison has opened a museum dedicated to prison life. The visit is very interesting even if it is mostly a hymn to the courageous work of the guards. We would also have liked that they speak to us about the conditions of detention of the prisoners. Two rodeos are organized during the year, in April and in October. This is a pretty special time when the prisoners sell their art and participate in the rodeo events. Big House Cafe on site.
