HEADLEY-WHITNEY MUSEUM
George W. Headley III (1908-1985) was born in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1908. He studied art at the Art Student's League in New York and at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, before making his apprenticeship as a creator with Jeweller Paul Paul Flato. In the 1940 s, he opened his own jewelry shop in California at Hotel Bel-Air. After almost a decade of success, Headley returned to his family farm, La Belle in Lexington, and continued his career as a creator of jewelry and trinkets. Completed in 1970, the museum exhibits art exhibitions, including surprising trinkets, designed by Headley and other artists.
