INTERNATIONAL BLUEGRASS MUSIC MUSEUM
This museum is dedicated to bluegrass, official music from Kentucky and a branch of the country. The current exhibition is held on two levels and occupies about 2 000 m ². The permanent exhibition focuses on Bill Monroe, the founding father of this music, and on the evolution of the bluegrass over time (origins, instruments…). There is also a replica of a coffee from the 1950 s with his jukeboxes and a Hall of Fame of the main artists who have contributed and continue to contribute to promoting this particular musical style. A boutique is located on the ground floor with many Cds and souvenirs. In 2018, a new museum will open its doors just a few steps away from the current address, next to the convention centre and the hotel area that we have seen in recent years on the banks of Ohio. It will be named International Bluegrass Music Center (IBMC).
