PAINTSVILLE LAKE STATE PARK
With its steep cliffs and wooded coves, its charming marina and the calm in which to bathe, this 460 ha lake is one of the many places of paradise around Paintsville. In addition to water activities, fishing and pedal boats, the park offers its visitors three main hiking trails. While the Kiwanis Trail (1,6 mile) and Adena Trail (7 miles) are reserved exclusively for hikers, the Dawkins Line Rail Trail extends (for its first phase) 18 miles between Hagerhill and Royalton, is also open to cyclists and riders. Access to the Darwkins Line Rail Trail is only a few kilometres away from the park and requires a vehicle to reach it. In addition to the marina services, a 32-seat campsite with electricity open all year round is also available on the site.
