PONT DE KASABASHI
Stone bridge, 25 m long and 3 m wide, designed in 1640 by a chief architect of the Ottoman Empire.
This stone bridge (Ura e Kasabashit) spans the Osum River shortly before the beginning of the gorge. It was designed in 1640 by Koca Kasım Ağa (1570-1659), a chief architect of the Ottoman Empire from the Elbasan region. The structure has not been used or maintained for decades, but it remains in good condition. Its curved deck is 25 m long and 3 m wide. It rests on two pillars connected by three arches, the largest of which is 12 m in diameter. From the bridge, the path leads to the great cave of Pirogoshi (no facilities for visits).
