PONT DU KADI
Beautiful Ottoman stone bridge, next to the Benja baths and Langarica canyon, in the Hotova-Dangëll Pine National Park.
Dating from the 1760s, this beautiful Ottoman stone bridge (Ura e Kadiut) spans the 37 m Langarica River in the Hotova-Dangëll Pine National Park, right next to Benja's most important hot-water bath. The structure was probably erected thanks to a donation from a kadi, an Islamic judge. But local tradition attributes its construction to the famous Ali Pacha of Tepelena. This is unlikely, as he was in his twenties at the time. The bridge marks the entrance to the superb Langarica canyon.
