VILLAGE OF FRASHËR
Home village of the Frashëri brothers, in the heart of the Hotova-Dangëll Fir National Park. Recently rebuilt museum and tekké.
Located in the heart of the Hotova-Dangëll Fir National Park, this village (Frashër/Frashëri in Albanian, Farșari in Aromanian) has about 300 Albanian and Aromanian inhabitants. It is home to the Frashëri Brothers' House-Museum (Shtëpia muze e Vëllezërve Frashëri), a building rebuilt during the communist period on the site of the birthplace of Sami, Naim, and Abdyl Frashëri, three Bektashi intellectuals involved in the "National Renaissance" movement at the end of the 19th century. There is also a Bektashi tekké founded by Ali Pasha in 1781.
