Huahine is one of the most surfer islands in Polynesia. Its high quality and very regular waves have long attracted surfers from all over the world, but remember that it's not your waves, and that locals jealously defend them, especially in Huahine.
The best spots are passe, especially those of Avamoa (opposite Fare), nearby Fitii and Tiara on the east coast, for Huahine Nui.
The Araara Pass, completely south of Huahine Iti, has the advantage of being low, but is not feasible in case of strong swell. You often have to swim about half an hour before you reach the wave; you can take you to the boat by your pension or by those you meet on the port, the right solution being to have a kayak or its own boat, and anchor it close to the pass.
