To visit the Mira de Aire caves is to descend into the largest underground limestone cathedral in Portugal. A magical place composed of formations encrusted with calcite with 600 m of caves that reach a depth of 110 m. The ascent is done by elevator. Inserted in a panoramic valley between the Serras de Aire and Candeeiros, the complex has a restaurant, two permanent exhibition spaces, a museum, an interpretation center of the limestone massif of Estremenho and a park with bungalows to extend the stay.

Open from 9:30 am to 5 pm (5:30 pm from April to May, 6:30 pm from June to September and 7 pm in July and August). Entrance fee : 7,80 € per adult and 4,50 € per child.

Gut ausgeleuchtet, sichere Treppen, man muss aber Trittfest sein und darf keine Knieprobleme haben.
Die Tour von 1 Stunde, 8,20€ lohnt sich.
Auf jeden Fall können wir nur empfehlen, die App zur Besichtigung der Höhle herunterzuladen.
Ein Punkt Abzug, da
die Qualität der englischen Führung miserabel war, besser wäre es gewesen er hätte seinen Mund gehalten.
