Military fortification housing a chapel, a windmill, an interpretation center and an amphitheater.

This military fortification was built in 1640 to control navigation on the river. It is part of the defensive system of the village, which evolved progressively between the 12th and 17th centuries, with the Castro Marim castle and the São Sebastião fort on either side. Rehabilitated in 2008, together with the chapel and the neighboring windmill, the site houses an interpretation center of the territory, an educational garden, an Andalusian garden, an outdoor amphitheater with 500 seats and a cafeteria. An original place for nice pictures.
