Archaeological site housing the remains of a seasonal Muslim settlement on the cliff tops.
Next to the Sitio do Forno restaurant, a 15-minute walk from the Praia do Amado in the direction of the fishing port. Admire the 12th-century remains of a seasonal Muslim settlement. Sitting atop the cliffs, you can imagine the life of this people, who lived from fishing and farming. Fourteen dwellings have been identified, along with remains of marine and terrestrial fauna. Whale bones have also been found. Now extinct from the Algarve coastline, this animal was hunted by coastal fishermen.
